HS2, the UK’s second High Speed Railway line, is the largest construction project in Europe.
Phase 1 is currently under construction and will link London and Birmingham with a 225mph service using state of the art 1,100 seater trains
Fairhurst are part of a design consortium working for the EKFB Construction Joint Venture (Effiage, Kier, Ferrovial, BAM).
Our team of 20 staff in our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices have designed the following assets in the Warwickshire area:
- 3 Bridge Crossings
- 9 Culverts
- 2 Watercourse Diversions
HS2 works through a BIM level 2 environment, with heavy data, asset tagging and digital engineering using ProjectWise, GIS, Navisworks, BIM Xtra, BIM coordination, MPDT, MIDPs, as well as modelling exports and conversion for inclusion into other discipline models and Navisworks Federated models.
Model and Drawing Quality Check reports are also produced to show compliance with online MIDPs, Asset Tagging, Data, CADQA and IFC conformity with ACBOS and JSON file creation for client COBie database.
This hugely challenging, complex project includes interfacing with delivery teams across Europe and India, combined with an industry first approach to BIM for a major infrastructure project in the UK.
